Residence Services Associate - Campus Services - FT Support Faculty of Applied Sciences & Technology at Humber Polytechnic Job Details Position Title: Residence Services Associate (Lakeshore, 12 AM – 8 AM, Monday‑Friday) Status: FT SupportHours: 37.5 hours per week (Academic Year: Monday‑Friday, 12 AM – 8 AM; Summer Conference Season: hours may be adjusted)Faculty/Department: Campus ServicesCampus/Location: Lakeshore CampusSalary: FT Support Payband C ($26.01 – $30.07 per hour; starting salary $26.01 per hour) About the Role Under the guidance of the Manager, Residence Front Desk & Summer Operations, the Residence Services Associate supports the operation of Front Desk services for students during the academic year and conference services during the summer months. The Associate maintains up-to-date student and guest information using appropriate software, serves as the main information resource for students, guests, conference guests, and contractors, and directs calls, visitors, and contractors to the appropriate staff. Effective ongoing communication with the conference team, residence administrative staff, residence assistants, and maintenance and housekeeping staff is essential to meeting guest and student/guest service standards. The position includes signing in contractors and guests, ensuring residents display their residence card upon entry, and distributing mail. Hours may vary during mandatory staff training. Responsibilities Support Front Desk operations during the academic year and conference operations during summer. Maintain accurate student and guest records using specified software. Serve as primary information resource for students, guests, conference participants, and contractors. Direct calls, visitors, and contractors to appropriate staff or service. Ensure residents present residence card upon entry and process mail distribution. Collaborate with conference team, administrative staff, residence assistants, and maintenance/housekeeping staff to meet service standards. Qualifications Education One‑year certificate or equivalent in Public Relations or Hospitality. Experience & Skills Minimum of two years of experience in a similar capacity, preferably in a hotel or front desk environment. Excellent interpersonal, listening, and customer‑service skills. Ability to work well under pressure with confidence and good judgment, including responding appropriately during emergencies or difficult situations. Ability to complete tasks and duties according to procedures and standard processes. Computer literacy, including e‑mail software and Microsoft Office Suite.
