Vancouver, Canada Goldbeck Recruiting Inc. Full time

Our client has six producing mines in Latin America. They are adding a Senior Accountant position to their growing team. The Senior Accountant will report to the Corporate Controller. As a publicly traded company they would like someone who has experience in a listed company through public practice or directly with a listed company. Hybrid work after probation.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform monthly close activities, including journal entry preparation, balance sheet account reconciliations, and review and analysis of relevant aspects of the balance sheet, cash flow and P&L
  • Review and/or prepare monthly transactions/Journal entries
  • Review and/or prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reconciliation final reports
  • Review and/or prepare consolidation entries
  • Provide IFRS guidance on accounting treatment or accounting implications (as needed) on any new activities or specific transactions
  • Prepare the group consolidation, and supporting working papers;
  • Prepare accounting memos for new and/or complex transactions;
  • Support the preparation of annual Canadian tax returns;
  • Coordinate with the Company’s external auditors, tax advisors, and various other service providers;
  • Ad hoc duties and tasks as assigned by the Corporate Controller.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or other relevant field
  • Canadian CPA designation (CA, CGA, CMA and CPA) or equivalents required
  • 5+ years of previous accounting experience in medium or large size companies or 3 years of public practice accounting firm is required.
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), with proven ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders
  • Experience working for Public Companies is preferred
  • Experience in the mining sector is preferred
  • Spanish speaking is preferred
