Job Title Speech Language Pathologist – Temporary Full Time Job Overview As a Speech‑Language Pathologist, you’ll play a vital role in fostering communication success for students through a consultative approach. Rather than providing direct one‑to‑one therapy, you will collaborate closely with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to design strategies and supports that integrate seamlessly into classroom and home environments. Your expertise will guide interventions for a range of needs, including speech and language delays/disorders, swallowing and feeding concerns, cognitive‑communication challenges, and pre‑literacy/literacy development. You will also conduct comprehensive assessments for new students applying to the program to determine eligibility and inform individualized support plans. This position includes maintaining accurate documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and contributing to team‑based problem‑solving to promote student success. What You’ll Do Assessment and progress monitoring by collaborating with classroom team, families/caregivers, and other interdisciplinary team members to determine speech & language needs of students Individualized instruction by reviewing and revising measures and/or goals Treatment planning and intervention through development of differentiated instruction strategies that support speech and language development Case management through discussing/reporting/documenting child strengths, achievements, needs and other noteworthy observations with interdisciplinary team and family/caregivers Collaboration to develop and implement consistent goals in areas of communication, social, emotional and behavioral development with team members and family/caregivers About You You thrive in a collaborative, dynamic environment where no two days are the same, bringing integrity, empathy, and a passion for making a difference. With strong communication skills, you build trust and foster teamwork while delivering results and maintaining service excellence. Your ability to plan, organize, and adapt ensures efficiency in achieving goals. Bonus points if you have experience supporting children facing unique challenges or from diverse cultural backgrounds, as this enhances your ability to connect and contribute effectively. Must‑Haves Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology Registered member of Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists or eligibility Experience working with children with complex needs (ASD, FAS, Global Delays, Hearing Loss) Intercultural competence and experience working with diverse populations and English language learners Strong communication and organizational skills Knowledge of trauma‑informed practices (or a willingness to learn) Willing participant in annual training in Safe Management practices (employer provided training) Clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector completed obtained within 60 days of date of hire Valid Standard First Aid/CPR certification or completion within 30 days of hire Nice‑to‑Haves Experience working with pre‑school aged children Experience with implementing and coaching on Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Experience in inclusive, multicultural environments Experience working with vulnerable families including low‑income Working with Us Temporary full‑time position starting as soon as possible ending April 20, 2027 Compensation starts at $42.57/hour, with increases based on experience and qualifications Typical working hours will be Monday‑Friday; however, casual evenings/weekends may be required Seniority level: Entry level Employment type: Temporary Job function: Health Care Provider Industries: Non‑profit Organizations Ready to Join the Team?
