Let the countdown beginResponsibilitiesThe Host / Hostess ensures every guest is greeted in a prompt, courteous and friendly manner, and thanks guests as they are leaving the restaurant.Essential Job Functions include:Manage reservation system to retain guest preferences, pre-assigning seating when necessaryWelcome and acknowledge each guest with a smile, eye contact, and a friendly verbal greeting, using the guest’s name when possibleEscort guests to the tables and assist in seating at tables, present menus and extend pleasantriesOffer a cordial farewell to every guest, thanking them for dining and invite them backCommunicates constantly with management and service staff to ensure efficient operationsMaintain positive relations with guests at all timesMaintain complete knowledge of scheduled daily activities, in-house groups, daily house count, table/ seat/station numbers, proper table set ups, room capacity, hours of operation, price range and dress codeAnswer restaurant telephone courteously and efficientlySpeak to guests’ and co-workers using clear, appropriate and professional languageAnticipate guests' service needs, including asking questions of guests to better understand their needs and watching/listening to guest preferences and acting on them whenever possible.Engage guests in conversation regarding their stay, property services, and area attractions/offeringsMove and arrange tables, chairs, and settings and organize seating for groups with special needs with minimal amount of disturbance to other guests.Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the shiftNotify management of maintenance repair issuesPerforms all other job-related duties as request.Lives the BrandQualificationsEXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONSMust be at least 19 years old.Performs duties which require bending & reaching.Standing or moving, for up to 8+ hours.Ability to turn or twist body parts in a circular motion.Maintains a well-groomed appearance.Follows all uniform guidelines.Practicing all general safety & sanitation standards.Recycling products, where possible.Remaining calm in a hectic, fast-paced atmosphere.Demonstrating a high level of organization, attention-to-detail and a sense-of-urgency.Displaying a positive and outwardly friendly attitude toward guests and co-workers.Ability to tolerate exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and loud/noisy environment.SkillsMust possess strong listening skills.Physical DemandsAbility to stand and sit for extended periods of time.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell.
