Job Title Quality Manager Company Superior Essex Purpose Lead and manage all aspects of the Quality Assurance department. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge and hands‑on experience with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards, internal and external audits, customer complaints and corrective action process, and laboratory testing processes. Responsibilities Quality Management System (QMS): Ensure ongoing compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards. Lead implementation and continuous improvement of QMS. Customer Concerns & Corrective Actions: Lead the investigation, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for customer complaints. Test Lab Oversight: Manage daily operations of the test laboratory including equipment calibration, test procedures, documentation, and compliance with applicable standards. External Audits & Customer Visits: Act as the main point of contact for ISO 9001 & IATF 16949 external audits and customer audits/visits. Prepare documentation, lead site tours, and represent the QA function professionally. Advanced Product Quality Planning: Lead APAP activities including PPAP process, control plans, process flow diagrams and PFMEA’s, MSA studies, Capability studies. Internal Audits: Plan, schedule, and execute the internal audit process. Maintain audit records and follow up on corrective actions. Layered Process Audits (LPA): Oversee implementation and monitoring of LPA system. Analyze findings and drive improvements in process consistency and compliance. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the Quality Assurance team. Promote a quality culture across all departments. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field. Minimum 5 years of QA/QC experience in a manufacturing environment. Proven experience with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 implementation and audits. Proven experience LPA audits, process & product audit processes. Strong knowledge of corrective action tools (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.). Experience managing daily operations of the test laboratory including equipment calibration, test procedures, documentation, and compliance with applicable standards. Proficient in APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC and FMEA tools. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills. Certified Lead Auditor (preferred). Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
