Job Description AECOM is looking for an Engineering Manager to act as the Design Lead with experience in overseeing a multi‑disciplinary team that will be designing the secondary side of a fusion power plant. The Engineering Manager is accountable to ensure that all related engineering activities are performed in accordance with approved policies, standards, programs, and procedures consistent with the expectations of the Chief Nuclear Engineer and the requirements of the ACNS Nuclear Quality System Manual. Specific Accountabilities Support the Senior Engineering Manager by providing engineering deliverables, including but not limited to designs, analyses, and other technical deliverables. Accountabilities include: Supervising up to fifteen direct reports (engineers and technicians) engaged in delivering engineered products to the client. Ensuring staff are trained, competent and qualified to perform their tasks. Preparing and providing training to staff. Investigating and resolving technical issues during all phases of a project. Preparing, reviewing, verifying, approving, or certifying engineering deliverables, such as: Technical Specifications Design Drawings and Bills of Material Commissioning Specifications Design Reports including Calculations and Analysis Overseeing work in the following areas: Mechanical – pressure boundary work under CSA N285, B51, B31, and related piping codes, calculations, or reports required by the client. Electrical – electrical work to Canadian and Ontario codes or any other jurisdiction in which design is performed. Civil – building codes including CSA N287, N289, N291 and national or provincial codes applicable to the design. Leading and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications Minimum Requirements A 4-year degree in engineering from an accredited university and 8+ years of related experience. Registered and practicing Professional Engineer. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated ability to manage a technical group of up to 15 people. Good technical understanding of nuclear power plant operation. Understanding of the regulatory environment and its requirements pertaining to nuclear power plant operation. Broad understanding of the practical application of engineering and the general application of engineering principles in electrical, mechanical, and civil disciplines. Compensation Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is CAD 180,000 to CAD 200,000 yearly.
