Our culture of performance ensures that every team member gets the support they need to succeedJob DescriptionWe are hiring a Purchasing & Design Specialist to support the development of presale deliverables for new and repeat meetings, incentives, and events. This role is responsible for creative program development, sourcing and procurement, vendor negotiation, budgeting, and client/vendor contracting.The position is remote within Canada, with the ability to travel to the Greater Toronto Area up to two times per year for in-person collaboration and planning.Key ResponsibilitiesEffectively communicate with team members and supplier partners to ensure accurate and timely proposal development of travel projects.Deliver operational excellence and growth in collaboration with Client ServicesSource rates and availability and strategize on recommendations for destinations, hotels, resorts, ships and venuesDevelop appealing programs incorporating creative inclusions to maximize client budgetMaintain awareness of emerging industry trends, and incorporate innovative themes, concepts, activities and events into proposalsConsider client/program objectives, program history, attendee demographics, and budget parameters when formulating recommendationsNegotiate competitive rates and terms/conditions on the client’s behalf, leveraging supplier relationships and seeking opportunities to enhance valueDevelop budgets and proformas, evaluating options to achieve client budget needs and maximize One10 profit opportunitiesExecute contracts, following established processes and ensuring Client Services and clients are informed and their best interests represented in all terms and conditionsParticipate in client presentations to present One10 travel-related capabilities along with the specific solution recommendationDevelop and maintain industry relationships including hotels, NSOs, DMCs, and CVBsPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsFour-year degree or equivalent experienceMinimum four (4) years’ industry experienceDemonstrated ability to operate effectively in a deadline driven environmentComputer proficiency in Microsoft office suite especially Word, Excel, and PowerPointStrong editing and writing skillsStrong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projectsAbility to work independently as well as a member of a teamSuperior customer service ethic and high expectations for qualityAbility to work independently and as a member of a teamAbility to travel and attend presentations as neededThis job description is intended to convey the general nature and scope of the position and not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required.
