Marsh We are seeking a talented individual to join our Risk Consulting team at Marsh as a Senior Consultant, Forensic Accounting Claims Services (FACS). This role can be based in Montreal, Toronto, Quebec City or Toronto. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. This consulting position will be responsible for managing complex client engagements, as well as assisting in growing the practice group in Canada while collaborating with a larger global team. It will require effective delivery or proposal of valued services for clients and prospects. Engagements might generally entail insurance loss measurement and claims preparation services, as well as expert forensic accounting assistance for financial investigations to quantify damages resulting from catastrophic events, litigation or disputes. We will count on you to: Apply knowledge of financial damages and measures of lost profits to develop financial models to assist clients in the preparation of losses in either an insurance or litigation context Ability to synthesize and analyze large data sets and complex business models across diverse industry sectors and to create work product that can be readily digested and scrutinized Ability to communicate complex analysis to clients, attorneys’ and other senior stakeholders. Strong written and verbal communication skills to enable strong business level conversations in adversarial settings of litigation and dispute resolution Experience addressing fraud and corruption investigations would be a plus combined with strong problem-solving ability Ability to project manage engagements, participate actively in client discussions and contribute to the practice in driving superior results for our clients. Willingness to take the initiative to develop deep industry expertise in key industry sectors (Energy, Mining, Financial Services, Healthcare, Technology, Communications) Willingness to help drive wider practice initiatives in the adoption of technology and driving increased operational efficiency of the practice. Willingness to travel What you need to have: Undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Statistics or Economics CPA, CBV, CFA, CFE designations or in process of obtaining 3 to 5 years familiarity with general accounting and finance terms and concepts, as well as with income statements, profit and loss statements, and other common financial documentation Minimum 1+ years of relevant professional experience in insurance claim quantification (experience with Business Interruption Losses preferred), litigation support, and/or forensic accounting services is required. Advanced level of proficiency with MS Excel (including VBA), skills in SQL or other database experience is a plus, visualization/analytics applications is a plus Strong project management skills– ability to identify, collect, and organized data needed for all projects, and ability to coordinate with brokers, account teams, and other teams in the Analytics and Consulting Practice What makes you stand out? Strong presentation skills– ability to translate results of data analysis into easy-to-understand recommendations for client risk decision-making, and ability to produce oral presentations and written reports in a concise and detailed manner Experience with building financial models – examples include projecting revenues, creating pro-forma operating results, and non-traditional enterprise risk modeling Preferred: Knowledge of commercial insurance programs – including mainstream property policies and ideally specialty insurance (examples include Cyber, Product Recall, Fidelity and Stock Throughput) Ability to communicate in both English and French.
