If you’re passionate about e‑commerce, thrive in dynamic, growth‑oriented environments, and love building impactful digital experiences, this is the opportunity for you Role Overview As the Head of Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in driving the technical vision, leading the development team, and bridging the gap between technology and business goals. You’ll be responsible for inspiring a high‑performing team while being hands‑on when needed, ensuring the delivery of innovative and scalable e‑commerce solutions. Role is open to remote candidates in Canada or the US. Key Responsibilities Drive accountability and inspire a high‑performing engineering team to deliver world‑class digital experiences. Engage with clients to understand their business needs and provide strategic technical solutions. Leverage in‑depth knowledge of Shopify’s ecosystem and roadmap to drive e‑commerce success. Lead, mentor, and empower the development team, fostering a culture of innovation and growth. Be strategic yet willing to get hands‑on with the code when needed. Play an active role in building and scaling the company, contributing to overall business strategy. Stay on top of industry trends, new technologies, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge. Qualifications Proven experience in a leadership role within an engineering team, preferably in an e‑commerce or digital agency setting. Deep expertise with Shopify and the broader Shopify ecosystem (APIs, custom development, integrations). Strong client‑facing and consultative skills, with a strategic mindset to bridge business and technology. Exceptional leadership and team‑building abilities, with a track record of inspiring high‑performance teams. Hands‑on coding experience, with the ability to contribute to the codebase when needed. Passion for e‑commerce and digital experiences, with a growth‑oriented. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
