Job PostingSummaryReporting to the Sr. Strategic Sourcing Director, this role is focusing on strategic sourcing, supplier selection and on-boarding, RFP/RFQ processes, supplier management for ingredients and indirect categories. This role requires strong collaboration with internal customers and the ability to create strategic partnerships with suppliers.Salary: $95,000 - $100,000 (Eligible for up to a 7% annual bonus)Location: Etobicoke, ONPrimary ResponsibilitiesIngredient & Category Expertise (Bakery Focus)Deep knowledge of key bakery ingredients like flour, sugar, oils, leavening agents, sweeteners, emulsifiers, and functional additives.Understanding of ingredient functionality, shelf-life, and how sourcing affects baking performance and finished product quality.Strategic Sourcing & Negotiation SkillsProven ability to develop sourcing strategies aligned with cost, quality, and supply continuity goals.Strong negotiation skills for contracts and pricing, especially for commodities and specialty ingredients affected by seasonality or global markets.Supplier Relationship & Risk ManagementExperience managing long-term supplier partnerships, especially for critical ingredients with limited sourcing options.Ability to assess and mitigate supply chain risks such as weather-related crop failures, ingredient shortages, or regulatory changes.Regulatory & Quality ComplianceFamiliarity with food safety standards (FDA, FSMA, GFSI, SQF) and labeling regulations relevant to bakery products (e.g., allergen declarations, organic, non-GMO).Works closely with Quality and R&D to ensure all sourced ingredients meet technical specs and documentation requirements (CoAs, specs, allergen controls).Cross-functional Leadership in Product DevelopmentCollaborates with R&D, Marketing, Quality, and Manufacturing to source ingredients that support innovation and reformulation efforts (e.g., clean label, reduced sugar).Supports cost optimization and product margin improvements through strategic sourcing initiatives.Required ExperienceMinimum 4 years of experience in Sourcing or Procurement within a high paced, multi-plant manufacturing environmentDegree in Business, Supply Chain or FinanceIntermediate to Advanced MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) Experience leading high volume of RFP/RFQGood knowledge of ERP/MRP processesProven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization both internally and externally in both written and oral formExcellent time and project management skillsExcellent written, verbal, analytical and numerical skillsAbility to work independently and within cross functional teamsExperienced and capable in multi-tasking, working on several subject and projects at the same time and is a self-starter with the ability to work independently at times.Committed to accuracy and quality of data; diligence in seeking accurate and reliable source dataAbility to learn and challenge own skills.Collaboration, initiative, decision making, communication.FGF Group Competencies:Adaptive Intelligence - Team Members respond effectively to challenges by evolving their skills, mindset, and approach.Flexibility, Agility, Adaptability: Thrives in dynamic environments by embracing continuous change.
