Public Protection Nurse Advisor – NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde This role is part of NHS GGC Public Protection Service and will work within a team to promote a high‑quality, safe and effective public protection service. You will support the delivery of the NHS GGC Public Protection Strategy – Safeguarding – It Matters to Us. Key Responsibilities Provide clinical leadership, specialist professional advice and support, and case supervision to staff across NHS GGC. Collaborate across professions and agencies to make evidence‑based decisions. Deliver expert advice, support and guidance to staff on matters relating to Public Protection. Support the implementation of child protection and adult support and protection policies. Engage in continuous professional development and share best practice within the Public Protection Service. Qualifications & Experience Registered Nurse or Midwife with a first level degree. Minimum five years post‑qualification clinical experience. Evidence of postgraduate masters level study. Postgraduate academic qualification in Child Protection and/or Adult Support and Protection (essential). Substantial experience working with children, young people, families and/or vulnerable adults. In‑depth knowledge of policy and legislation guiding contemporary child and/or adult support and protection practice. Willingness to undertake further study in adult and child protection if required. Work Hours and Salary Full and part‑time hours available: Monday to Friday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. Salary is pro‑rata for part‑time hours. As from 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours per week, with a corresponding hourly rate increase so pay is not affected. Location and Training Team based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital site. Public Protection training and specialist clinical supervision are carried out at sites across NHS GGC.
