Clinical Manager, Tertiary Site Operations

Clinical Manager, Tertiary Site Operations Join to apply for the Clinical Manager, Tertiary Site Operations role at Island Health. The unit manager is responsible for day‑to‑day operations, directly supervising at a minimum of nurses at the Level 4 or 5 classification/wage rate. In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient and staff safety is a priority. The role must continuously improve quality and safety, foster interdisciplinary participation in patient/resident care activities, and coach, mentor, motivate and empower clinical staff. Reporting to the Director, Tertiary Clinical Operations, the manager interacts with physicians, nursing staff, unit staff, and other interdisciplinary team members on a daily basis, providing clinical support by exception only. Qualifications Education, Training and Experience Level of education, training and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a health‑related field and seven years of relevant management experience. Current registration with a professional licensing body. Skills and Abilities Demonstrated leadership ability and highly developed interpersonal and communication skills. Commitment to client‑focused services, teamwork and an integrated/coordinated system of services. Ability to integrate administrative, professional and operational aspects of the department throughout Island Health efficiently. Ability to develop and nurture an environment where quality improvement principles are embraced continuously. Ability to lead in the context of evolving needs. Strong management skills, particularly in staff and budget areas. Ability to work effectively with staff and physicians. Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, problem‑solving and conflict resolution skills. Ability to lead others and negotiate creative solutions. Analytical and conceptual thinking to identify and resolve issues.
