Sagicor is focused on growing its business in the markets in which we operate and actively supporting the communities in which we serve.Here’s the job opportunity…As the Senior Actuarial Analyst, at Sagicor Life Inc., you will work as part of the IFRS17 Valuation and Financial Reporting Team for the Caribbean.This role is based in Canada, candidates located in the Greater Toronto Area is preferred.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare valuation reports for all regions that Sagicor Life Inc. operatesImplement, maintain, and improve actuarial valuation models in AXISParticipate in the IFRS17 ProjectPrepare and consolidate financial reportsAnalyse and improve the reporting process by identifying inefficienciesPrepare in depth analysis for sensitivity test, capital adequacy and risk managementDevelop and refine controls processPerform other ad hoc requests, and duties as assignedQualificationsBachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or a related field with a background in Calculus, Probability and Statistics2+ years of experienceDemonstrated progress with actuarial examsStrong knowledge of IFRS 17 (experience with IFRS17 implementation is preferred)Proficient in Microsoft Office software with Excel expertiseExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong knowledge of GGY Axis actuarial softwareAnalytical and problem-solving capabilitiesStrong organizational skills and attention to detailProven ability to be deadline driven with strong time management skillsKnowledge of Canadian reserving standards and rules, e.g. CALM, LICAT, MCCSR, etc. is considered an assetExperience in a financial services environment is considered an assetWhat’s in it for youAt Sagicor, it's important for us to keep our people motivated, recognized and rewarded.
