Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) training. Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and Internet applications. Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to work independently. Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills. Demonstrated flexibility to adapt techniques and procedures in a changing environment. Demonstrated knowledge and competence of skills and concepts related to the position. Demonstrated communication skills. Ability to respect and promote confidentiality. Ability to perform the duties of the position on a regular basis. Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population. Ability to work effectively and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, clients, and within interdisciplinary teams. Position Summary The Physician Assistant/Clinical Assistant will perform physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic investigations/interventions, attend clinical and educational rounds, and handle administrative requirements such as documenting patient encounters in electronic medical records. Assistants must communicate effectively in English with members of interdisciplinary healthcare teams. Overview Responsibilities Pre- and post-surgical management of patients. Perform, order, and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic investigations/interventions. Perform physical examinations and take medical histories. Make diagnoses and develop management plans. Counsel patients on preventative health care. Arrange consults and referrals. Assist in all aspects of surgical procedures in the operating room. Perform basic procedures such as laceration repair, sutures, wound care, castings, and dressings. Complete other duties as assigned.
