Project Manager, Engineering (Transmission) Nova Scotia Power is looking to fill a permanent position for a Project Manager on the Energy Delivery Capital Execution team. The role will lead the development and planning of Transmission Line Capital Projects. Responsibilities Lead various Transmission Line Capital Projects, from component replacements to full line re-builds, using reliability analysis and transmission line performance to identify and plan investments. Manage the project lifecycle, including development (economic and business case justification and review of alternatives), planning, engineering, procurement, scheduling and close out. Collaborate with the Transmission Work Plan Manager to ensure projects are scheduled and executed successfully. Oversee all components of the project’s regulatory governance, including scope and justification, financial performance, cost controls and UARB requirements. Work closely with Nova Scotia Power teams (Field Operations, Transmission Work Plan Manager, Control Center Operations, Engineering, Asset Management, System Planning, Environmental Services, Safety) and external stakeholders to ensure successful development and implementation. Ensure personal safety, co‑workers and contractors comply with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations. Accountable for environmental performance in relation to the environment management system processes and initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering and full membership (or eligible for membership) in Engineers Nova Scotia. Strong project management skills, experience managing entire project lifecycles, knowledge of formal project management methodologies and demonstrated competence in delivering projects on time, on schedule and on budget. Excellent communications and relationship skills with internal and external stakeholders, and the ability to work with various departments in the Nova Scotia Power organization. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel throughout Nova Scotia to support projects as needed. Assets: experience in a regulated utility operating environment; experience with high voltage and/or medium voltage electrical infrastructure; PMP certification.
