America Fujikura Limited (AFL) is on the hunt for Design Technician who is dynamic, innovative, detail-oriented and excels at visualization and concepts to joinour Canadian Operations. Responsibilities Review proposed civil work and ensure accuracy prior to permitting to avoid unnecessary re-work. Request fieldwork for areas in question. Ensure drawings are accurate, easy to read, polished and adhere to standards and guidelines. Resolve issues with proposed builds, including creating and/or modifying designs including fiber, civil, and aerial plant. Visit work locations to assess plant. Regularly meet with stakeholders, both internal and external, to review plans. Communicate project requirements, designs, issues, status updates and deliverables with Quality Assurance team, OMO team, and construction. Assist team members, both within the office and in the field, as required. Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned. Team Player skills – possess strong commitment to team environment dynamics with the ability to contribute expertise and follow leadership directives at appropriate times. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience ideally within telecommunication industry. Understanding of civil, fiber and aerial design. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat). Knowledge in Autodesk AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation, Quick Ploe an asset. Education Telecom Diploma is desirable. Electrical engineering. Working Conditions Hybrid Office Schedule. General hours of Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm. Travel is required. Why AFL?
