MissionReporting to the Manager of Food Services, the Dietary Aide provides support to the set‑up, preparation, serving and clean up associated with all meal services in the Residence/Home.Job DescriptionRole Profile – Dietary AideKey OutcomesLive our values of Respect, Integrity, Compassion and ExcellenceLend a helping handCultivate relationships with staff, residents and familiesLead with H.E.A.R.T. (hear, empathize, acknowledge, respond, thank)Key ResponsibilitiesTo serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous mannerTo assist in the set up and preparation for service of various items such as beverages, salads, desserts, etc.To set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as requiredTo assist with cleaning of dishware, cutlery at the conclusion of each seating as requiredTo assist with maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen and dining area as requiredTo assist with catering, and actively participate in special occasions and theme eventsTo assist in the orientation and training of new dietary employeesTo follow and comply with health and safety legislation and departmental safe job proceduresTo comply with all provincial regulations and established department policies and proceduresTo be aware of the Resident Rights & Responsibilities and endeavor to respect and promote itTo attend in‑service training as required in order to better serve the needs of the residentsTo attend staff meetings as required to be aware of changes in Residence that have taken placeTo participate in the Quality Improvement ProgramTo uphold and promote the organization’s values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics, morality, and integrity as set out in Revera’s Code of ConductAdheres to responsibilities and requirements for reporting adverse resident occurrences subject to regulatory and legislative directionTo complete all other tasks as assigned.Required Education, Credentials And ExperienceMust possess a Food Handler’s CertificatePreference will be given to individuals who have previous experience in the food service industry and working with seniorsDemonstrates excellent customer service skillsMust be physically able to lift (20lb) and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for majority of shiftProficiency in a second language is considered an assetCurrent (within 6 months) Vulnerable Position/Sector Screening (VPS)ConfidencesAccountability: Takes ownership and holds self and others accountable to deliver high quality, timely and cost‑effective results.Business Acumen: Understands financial and operational aspects and implications that are essential to achieve superior business results.Coaching & Developing Talent: Building capability of self, individuals and teams by engaging in feedback, coaching, learning and development.Customer Focus: Keeping the customer in mind to deliver the highest possible quality of care, service and choices.Execution Excellence: Optimizes available resources and pursues implementation to consistently achieve exceptional outcomes.Innovative Thinking: Identifies, develops and implements new and innovative solutions to enhance opportunity, efficiency and quality.Teamwork and Collaboration: Inspires and fosters a team environment and works collaboratively to achieve business goals and objectives.Time TypePart timeWhen you choose to build your career with Extendicare, you’re joining a team dedicated to making a difference.
