Job Summary Reporting to the Sr. Director, Infrastructure and Service Management, the Enterprise Data Architect will lead cross‑domain solutions for business and IT projects, set direction, research emerging technologies and define governance policies globally. The role collaborates with GIS and business teams on design requests, solutioning, impact assessment and continuous improvement of enterprise architecture. Job Responsibilities Develop and deliver long‑term strategic goals for architecture vision and standards in collaboration with users, department managers, GIS, and other stakeholders. Create short‑term tactical solutions to achieve long‑term objectives and an overall infrastructure management roadmap. Collaborate with other architects, service portfolio leads, and GIS teams on area roadmaps and integrate them into the overall architecture roadmap. Translate business requirements into scalable system/solution designs and technical specifications via proof‑of‑concepts, demos, and functional prototypes, and lead delivery teams. Define standards for naming, describing, governing, managing, modeling, cleansing, enriching, transforming, moving, storing, securing, searching, and delivering data within the enterprise. Create logical and physical designs for systems and management capabilities across the full lifecycle. Stay on top of innovation, evaluating platforms and solutions for inclusion into the architecture standard and roadmaps. Document and define processes, eliminating activities that don’t add value through process analysis and redesign. Define, socialize, and support the implementation of system architecture. Communicate complex issues to technical and non‑technical audiences. Review projects for impact and compliance. Identify and maintain an up‑to‑date picture of organizational and industry opportunities and risks. Participate in research, development, testing, and production support activities as relevant. Prepare and present recommendations to GIS and business leadership teams as required. Ensure compliance with common and emerging system protection and security principles. Interact with GIS leadership, solution architects, service portfolio leaders, service portfolio architects/analysts, project managers, business partners, vendors, and other stakeholders. Perform all other relevant duties as assigned. Education and Experience University or college degree or equivalent experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Proven track record for working effectively with technical and business functions. Advanced understanding of enterprise architecture concepts, patterns, and standards. Proven project delivery experience. Understanding of software development lifecycle. Strong analytical skills for identifying problems, validating, and making recommendations. Excellent documentation skills. Advanced, concise, and clear written and verbal communication skills in a variety of settings and styles. Excellent listening skills with the ability to follow instructions and guidelines clearly. Demonstrated ability to make decisions, solve, and troubleshoot problems based on analysis, experience, and judgment. Demonstrated ability to originate or initiate new and unique ideas for business/technical problems. Proven ability to function in a fast‑paced and continuously changing environment. Excellent organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities to accomplish objectives and goals, anticipating and adjusting for problems and interruptions/roadblocks. Excellent interpersonal skills. Good presentation skills in a variety of settings with business or technical users in small and large groups. Experience delivering training and/or creating training materials on business or technical topics. High degree of commitment and demonstrated ability to continuous learning and improvement. Experience Minimum 10 years’ experience in technology delivery or design capability with exposure to enterprise or solution architecture processes and activities.
