Serving the Members of Provincial Parliament and the people of Ontario, the Office of the Auditor General of Ontario plays a crucial role in ensuring accountability and transparency in the province's financial management and government operations. The Assistant Auditor General, Performance Audits portfolio reports to the Auditor General and contributes as member of the Executive Committee, in identifying emerging strategic issues and to the overall direction and administration of the Office. The Assistant Auditor General will oversee the planning and execution of complex, multidisciplinary performance audits under the Auditor General Act. This role is responsible for developing and implementing multi‑year audit plans, ensuring the consistent application of professional standards, and producing timely, relevant, and accurate reports for the Legislature. The position plays a key role in fostering collaboration across ministries and agencies, and representing the Auditor General and the Office with integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to transparency and accountability. The ideal candidate is a strategic and experienced audit leader with a Canadian Professional Accountant (CPA) designation and who has experience directing complex performance audits. Public Service driven, they bring deep knowledge of governance, financial management, and risk oversight, ideally within the public sector or a similarly complex environment. Known for their sound judgment, integrity, and political acuity, the successful candidate is an exceptional communicator who can build trust with diverse stakeholders and guide multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality, objective audit work.
