Location: Western Zone, Valley Regional Hospital Department: PHAR Pharmacy Clinical VRH & SMH Type: Permanent, 100% Full-Time (1 position) Closing Date: 22-Jan-26 About The Opportunity Reporting to the Manager, Pharmacy Services, the Pharmacist works within an inter‑professional and collaborative team to deliver holistic, comprehensive healthcare services in a patient‑centered environment. The Pharmacist has accountability and responsibility for the procurement and dispensing of medications, as well as their safe and effective use by patients, the prevention of disease and the promotion of health and wellness, and independent prescribing within collaborative practices. The Pharmacist provides information about the optimal use of medications, promotes cost effectiveness through evidence‑based decision making, and contributes to the knowledge base of drug information through practice‑based research initiatives and drug‑use evaluations. The Pharmacist ensures that the principles and practices that guide Nova Scotia Health are integrated within the support provided by their work through messages delivered. About You Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy Licensed or eligible for licensure with the Nova Scotia Pharmacy Regulator (NSPR) Two (2) years recent related experience is an asset Completion of a hospital residency program is an asset Member of the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists is an asset BLS (Basic Life Support) required Computer proficiency Knowledge of pharmacokinetics relevant to area of practice/populations served Demonstrated accountability Demonstrated judgement and decision‑making skills Strong client focus and ability to build solid client/practitioner relationships Demonstrated communication and conflict resolution skills Demonstrated collaboration and teamwork skills Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation Demonstrated leadership abilities Demonstrated planning, organization and time management skills Commitment to promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practices and organizational health Travel may be required Competencies in other languages are an asset; French preferred Hours Permanent / 100% FTE / 75 Hours bi‑weekly Compensation and Benefits $49.42 - $63.29 hourly. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long‑term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
