Expand your skills and discover your potential with Redpath Canada Limited.At Redpath, we know that our people are our most important resource.Become a member of this winning team where safety is first, last and always.Redpath Canada Limited is currently seeking expressions of interest from candidates in the Red Lake and surrounding area who have extensive experience in the following mining occupations:Rotation:14 days on 14 days offShift Length:12 hours workers 13 hours supervisionAllowance: Will be provided based on locationTravel: Will be provided based on locationBenefits:Redpath offers comprehensive benefits including but not limited to health, dental and vision care, life insurance, pension and employee assistance programPre-employment requirement: Drug TestJob SummaryRedpath Canada Limited is looking for operators with extensive experience at drilling, scaling, meshing and bolting rounds using jumbos equipped with twin telescopic slides.ResponsibilitiesGeneral:Visually inspect and wash down the working area, checking for misfiresAssess ground conditions at the face and implement ground control according to site requirementsThe ability to read and understand the ground support management plan and carry a copy of the current heading ground support plan into the heading.Proficient in the installation of mesh and bolts using the twin boom split feed jumbo to site standards which ensures correct mesh overlap, bolt spacing etc.Mentor the offsider and train to ensure safe behaviour and always works under supported ground.Always isolate booms when offsider is in front of the jacks.Conduct face prep prior to drilling roundsAbility to read and follow survey memos, mark up offsets line and grade.Ability to read and follow engineered drill profiles (Approved site standards)Perform minor repairs, such as changing shanks, couplings and hoses.Complete daily checklists/pre-starts on equipment and submit written and verbal reports to supervisor.Maintain working area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.Health and Safety:Having the authority and responsibility to maintain a safe and efficient working environmentFollowing Redpath Canada Limited health and safety standards and systems, including the Five Point Safety System and the Cardinal Rules, and reporting any unsafe acts or conditionsResponsible to ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment required in the performance of the work.Must have knowledge of the WHMIS legislation and know how to effectively use an MSDS sheet.Comply with the Act and Mining Regulations that apply to the work area.QualificationsEducation:High School Diploma or equivalentOntario Hard Rock Underground Common Core – Full Basic (or other provincial equivalent)Required Specialty Modules: U0089 (or other provincial equivalent)Work Experience:3 years or more experience with Jumbo Bolting1 year of experience on a scoop1 year of experience installing services1 year of experience loading and blasting rounds.Knowledge RequiredDemonstrated ability to read mine plans and specifications for underground mining.Demonstrate how to turn corners using offsetsAbility to multi task and work effectivelyAbility to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independentlyRespectful of cultural differencesAbout UsIn 1962, Jim Redpath’s vision for the company was much the same as it is today; offering a high level of service to the mining industry, which exceeds current standards and provides challenge for its employees.
