OverviewAcuren Group is actively seeking a Structural Engineer to bolster our Engineering Department. The candidate will report to the Engineering Manager. This position will be based out of our Richmond, BC office. Salary range for this role is CA$85,000 to CA$105,000K/yr depending on certifications and experience. If you are seeking a dynamic industrial environment with opportunities for individual growth and learning, your next career move awaitsResponsibilitiesThe candidate will use their structural engineering skills to review structures, design repairs, and prepare drawings. They will guide junior team members and ensure projects are on time, on budget, and meet client needs. The ideal candidate is proactive, client-focused, and passionate about delivering quality results.Engineering experience and expertise: Structural review, inspection and repair design of existing buildings and equipment including structural steel buildings, materials handling equipment, temporary work platforms, industrial equipment, and lifting equipmentPrepare and seal drawings for designs of temporary work platforms and their attachment to existing infrastructure/structures.Follow construction safety guidelinesMonitor on-site construction processes and provide technical support for construction projectsMentoring less experienced staff and providing technical support to the engineering teamAny additional area of expertise across mobile cranes/platforms annual certification, finite element stress and thermal analysis, condition assessment, and fitness for service assessment would be an assetProject management and client engagementDiligent management through all phases of a project lifecycle: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout.Proactively engaging with clients to build rapport, enhance relationships, and navigate difficult conversations.Continually striving for process improvements including creating comprehensive reports and reports aligned to client needs, and identifying solutions to issues and developing recommendations for implementationRequirementsA university degree in Structural, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.Registration as a Professional Engineer (or immediately eligible) with the Engineers & Geoscientists of BC5-10 years of relevant experience design experience including conveying systems, bulk loading and unloading equipment, buildings structural design, and structural support systems for process equipment.Demonstrated experience of successful project management and implementation of project management tools for tracking and communicating budgets, schedules, and deliverables.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines, maintaining a high-quality deliverables and clear and timely communication.Experience conducting inspections and repair designs for buildings, pressure equipment, tanks, piping, infrastructure at ports, marine terminals, and mines and for a range of bulk material handling equipment including shiploaders, ship unloaders, reclaimers, and rail car dumpers.Experience with repair design for concrete, steel, and timber.Must be familiar with AutoCAD, Solidworks and other CAD design and analysis softwareMust be familiar with BCBC, NBCC, CSA S16, CSA S6, CSA W59 and other relevant design codesFamiliarity with common structural design software (e.g., SolidWorks Beam Analysis, S-Frame, SkyCiv, etc.)Valid BC driver’s licenseBenefitsThe strength of Acuren lies in its outstanding people.
