Seeking a Physiotherapist with excellent communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills who is comfortable working in a high‑pressure environment. Reporting to the Patient Care Manager 2L General Medicine and Stroke Unit, you will assess and treat patients, provide consultation, discharge planning, and education to patients, families, and external agencies. Duties & Responsibilities Primary role is the assessment and management of physical impairments or disabilities to enhance and restore functional abilities and quality of life. Provide physiotherapy services including assessment, treatment, consultation, discharge planning, and education. Collaborate effectively as a member of an interprofessional team, working with other disciplines to deliver comprehensive care and complex discharge planning. Identify and address educational needs for patients and their families. Commit to ongoing professional development to maintain optimal patient care. Deliver patient care in accordance with all professional and organizational standards. Contribute to the academic mandate as an educator, resource, or support for staff, students, and the professional community. Qualifications Currently licensed in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (CPO) for all applicable clinical areas. Hold a Master’s Degree (or substantial equivalent) in Physiotherapy. Possess current BLS certification (or willingness to complete it within the probationary period). As required, rostered (or willing to roster before the end of the probationary period) with the CPO to administer a substance by inhalation. Experience with assessment of mobility and safety with general medicine patients in an acute care setting preferred. Experience in the assessment and treatment of acute stroke patients preferred. Excellent communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills. Proven flexibility and adaptability in a fast‑paced environment. Excellent time‑management, organizational, and prioritization skills related to patient care. Demonstrated advocacy, commitment to, and involvement with the profession (e.g., professional association membership, representation on relevant committees) preferred.
