Your OpportunityReporting to the Manager, Pediatric Medical Unit, the Physiotherapist is responsible for the physiotherapy management of pediatric medical and respiratory referrals. Responsibilities include assessment and intervention, liaison with medical staff and the interdisciplinary team, collaboration with Health Centre and community teams, and participation in PMU patient care morning huddles daily. The Physiotherapist will participate in professional development, education of patients and families, Health Centre Staff, and affiliated students. The Physiotherapist shares caseload coverage across the Health Centre as required, including weekend standby and call-back coverage on a rotational basis. Hours of WorkMonday to Friday, 7.5 hours per shift, with weekend standby and call-back coverage on a rotational basis. QualificationsGraduate of a Canadian Physiotherapy Association-approved Physiotherapy Program.Licensure to practice by the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists is required.Minimum two (2) years of clinical experience preferred; two (2) years of pediatric experience preferred.Clinical experience in cardio-respiratory physiotherapy practice preferred.Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in assessment and intervention for children and youth with disabilities is required.Demonstrated clinical knowledge in respirology and cystic fibrosis care preferred.Ability to work effectively both independently and within an interdisciplinary team.Interpersonal, presentation, and communication (verbal and written) skills.Excellent time management, organization, and problem-solving skills.Current successful completion of a Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Basic Life Support (BLS) Level within the last 12 months, or a valid BLS Renewal Certificate.Competencies in other languages are an asset.
