Automotive HVAC Design Release Engineer – Lorien Location: Windsor, Ontario, Canada Base Pay: C$37.00/hr – C$39.00/hr Employment Type: ContractSeniority Level: Entry Level Job Responsibilities Develop and validate automotive HVAC compressor and A/C line components. Ensure components meet performance objectives and coordinate development with powertrain, BIW, Aero/Thermal, engine cooling, and suppliers. Create source packages, specifications, requirements, change notices, and manage suppliers to meet program timing and deliverables. Maintain component and subsystem DVP&R, support bench testing, simulation, drive‑cell and static cell test results, perform data analysis, and establish corrective actions as needed. Lead a virtual team to design and perform CFD and FEA analysis for components to meet performance targets. Support pilot and pre‑production build processes at the assembly plant for development and installation of AC line and compressors. Job Requirements Bachelor of Science in mechanical or electrical engineering (or equivalent) from an ABET‑accredited university. 1–3 years of experience in HVAC compressors and/or A/C line design/development; experience in engine cooling or aero‑thermal is a plus. Strong knowledge of Unigraphics NX and CATIA. Proficient PC skills and MS Office; excellent written, verbal, listening, and interpersonal skills. Self‑starter, motivated to produce results. Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA). Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R). Basic thermodynamics knowledge. Valid driver’s license. Preferred Requirements Experience in e‑compressors, chillers, EV components. Experience with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS). Basic thermodynamics knowledge. HVAC system engineering knowledge. Previous experience as an AC line design and release engineer.
