Manager, Communications & Media Relations (Maternity Leave Contract) This role is a fixed-term maternity leave role, covering the period from February/March 2026 to April 2027. The successful candidate will assume full responsibilities of the position for the duration, ensuring continuity of work and support for BILD’s communication team. About the role: Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Manager, Communications and Media Relations has day-to-day management and executional responsibility for BILD’s internal and external communications, including but not limited to: The production and dissemination of news releases and monthly sales releases Media relations and working with the designated spokesperson to facilitate BILD’s external media presence. BILD’s social media presence over all channels Maintenance and enhancement of BILD’s website Working with the COO to support the development and execution of external campaigns, including executing against a 2026 editorial calendar. Working with the Communications Specialist in the production and dissemination of e-newsletters (Renovator News, BILD News, Principals’ Note) and any member bulletins. Working with the membership and events department, the Manager, Communications and Media will plan, produce and execute e-marketing communications material for BILD events, seminars, networking opportunities and the annual membership renewal cycle. BILD is a hybrid work environment. Qualifications and Experience: A diploma or degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field is an asset, but not required. Knowledge of the new housing construction, development, and/or non-residential construction sectors, and/or the public policy landscape in the GTA and Ontario, is considered a strong asset. Five or more years of relevant experience, with demonstrated excellence in professional writing. Proven ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams within a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This is a writing-intensive role, requiring a high level of proficiency in professional, strategic communications. The interview process will include a writing exercise.
