Public schools in Yukon Communities are operated by three school authorities: Yukon Education, First Nation School Board and Commission scolaire francophone du Yukon. Yukon Education is looking for teachers on calls for Robert Service School in Dawson City for the 2025/2026 school year. At Robert Service School, in partnership with Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in and our school community, we are committed to connecting learners and learning to people and place. We work collaboratively with partners and students to provide quality and, as necessary, adjusted and differentiated learning experiences foundational for each student's success. Teacher on calls replace regular classroom teachers or education assistants on an as needed basis. They are responsible for delivering set lesson plans, maintaining the positive learning climate of the school, managing students and expectations in the classroom and broader learning environments, and collaborating with other educators as needed to ensure success. Supervising students during recess/lunch breaks and participating in arrival and dismissal duties may also be part of the daily responsibilities. Qualifications and Experience High School Diploma Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting Bachelor of Education (Elementary, Middle or Secondary) degree, or equivalent training would be an asset A valid Teacher Regulation Branch Certificate, or in progress would be an asset Desired Knowledge, Skills and Suitability Ability to understand and effectively carry out general oral and written instructions with a minimum of supervision Ability to communicate effectively using courtesy and tact in the explanation and exchange of information Ability to determine, judge and select appropriate course of action within limits of established methods and procedures Knowledge of spoken and written French is required for positions with CSFY Knowledge of and sensitivity to the culture and aspirations of Yukon First Nations students as well as a culturally diverse student population Additional Information Conditions of Employment: Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector, to be provided before the first day of employment, dated no more than 3 months prior to your start date For your application to be considered, all relevant documents listed below must be submitted after your application to teacher.recruitment@yukon.ca for review: RCMP Vulnerable Sector Check Reference (2-3 contacts) Transcripts from your program A copy of the credential received after completing your program A copy of your teaching certificate Do not attach these documents to your Apply To Education submission.
