As a Journey Manager your typical day will impact the following ways: Set up and clean activity area as necessary and transport residents to and from programs. Monitor the behaviour and condition of residents during programs. Document and report any significant changes to appropriate staff members. Maintain Journey program and resident records according to department policy and the Journey framework. Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures and implement any new policies and procedures as mandated by Labour Relations and Support Services Office. Remains current with ORCA standards and implements new processes as required. Work cooperatively with other departments to meet resident needs within the Journey framework. Promote and raise awareness about Journey within the community, so that staff understand and can explain it to guests, families, residents and volunteers. Must Haves Have sound knowledge and experience in one-one/group program planning. Ability to work independently and ability to manage time effectively. Ability to plan, implement, evaluate new ideas, resident programs and volunteer initiatives. Knowledge and/or experience in working with the geriatric population especially those with cognitive impairments. Minimum 3 years’ experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or Retirement industry. Effective interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Fitness certification training.
