Combined Laboratory / X-Ray Technologist II The Valleyview Health Centre is actively hiring a CLXT II. Take on this opportunity to mentor and supervise the day-to-day operation of department staff and services in their area. You will be responsible for the coordination, organization and operation of the site Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging departments. Valleyview is strategically located at important crossroads that lead to Peace River, Northwest Territories, British Columbia, and the Yukon. June to August are generally warm and sunny months and daylight hours can last up to 17 hours at the peak of summer Two provincial parks, Williamson and Young’s Point, are a major attraction to the region. Sturgeon Lake and the parks are used in summer and winter for fishing perch, walleye and whitefish. The region is a sportsman’s paradise for those who enjoy cross-country and downhill skiing and snowmobiling. APL currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. Relocation assistance may be available. This role works a variety of shifts. This position may require frequent physical demands that include walking, standing, bending, lifting, hand movements and extensive use of computers that may cause eye strain. Description: As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist II, you will direct and supervise the day-to-day operation of department staff and services in their area. You will be responsible for the coordination, organization and operation of the site Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging departments. You will also be responsible to perform site specific manual and automated laboratory procedures, diagnostic imaging exams, cardiology procedures and related duties following established standards and practice defined by the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologists (ACCLXT), College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) and Health Professions Act. Classification: Combined Lab/X-Ray Tech II Union: HSAA FAC PROF/TECH Unit and Program: LAB/DI Primary Location: Valleyview Health Centre Multi-Site: Not Applicable FTE: 0.80 Posting End Date: 21-NOV-2025 Employee Class: Regular Part Time Date Available: 01-DEC-2025 Length of Shift in weeks: 2 Shifts per cycle: 8 Days Off: As Per Rotation Minimum Salary: $38.39 Maximum Salary: $49.34 Vehicle Requirement: Not Applicable Required Qualifications: Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT). Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT). Additional Required Qualifications: Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel. In addition to your strong attention to detail and good judgement, you are highly organized and have proven communication skills that enable you to work collaboratively within our fast-paced ever-changing environment. Preferred Qualifications: A minimum of three years CLXT experience, preferably in a rural setting. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification preferred.
