OverviewWe are looking for a Power Generation Field Service Technician to join our team in Ottawa.Cummins values a safety environment. We offer a 5000$ sign-on bonus for this position. Benefits start day 1ResponsibilitiesEstablishes and continually develops productive customer relations and ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needsApplies the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete complex repairs at customer sitePerforms preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on power generation products in the fieldEscalates unresolved issues to product specialists / Supervisor Coaches and develops technicians and/or apprentices and transfers knowledge and experience to others; may provide work direction; may review repair plans, parts lists, etcCompletes required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, and quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screensCompletes training in line with skill and business requirementsMaintains service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operationEnsure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to site management and to their supervisorQualificationsBasic mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilitiesHigh Voltage / Low Voltage experienceRed seal certification Heavy duty mechanics (421A), Automotive (310S) or in Truck trailer (310T) is mandatory for this positionElectrical knowledge and experience are an assetReliability security clearance is an assetGood customer relation skillsLocally valid driving permitClean driver’s abstractThis position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulationWork Location and ScheduleWork on a daily basis on maintenance contracts (PMs) - startups - installationsOttawa and surroundings (Gatineau valley across QC bridge) CNL in Deep RiverRegular working hours are from 7am to 3:30pm but this position requires flexibility in working hours (possible 4X10 or 5X8) and some weekend workSalary starts at 44.00$ hourly, depending on experienceCompensation and BenefitsBase salary rate commensurate with experience.
