Responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate preparation of drawings to meet project deadlines.Duties are responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Project Scheduling:Develop and maintain a comprehensive project schedule for shop drawings;Coordinate with Project Managers to understand project requirements and timelines;Prioritize projects based on urgency and complexity to allocate resources effectivelyDrafter Management and Support:Lead and supervise a team of drafters, providing guidance, support and mentoring;Assist drafters in resolving technical issues and challenges during the drawing process;Ensure that the drafters adhere to company standards and quality guidelines;Shop Drawing Completion:Review and approve shop drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications;Collaborate with design and engineering teams to resolve any discrepancies or conflicts;Monitor progress to ensure timely completion of shop drawings;Reporting and CommunicationRequest weekly reports from drafters to track project status and identify potential issues. Review reports from Window Wall Team;Drafters to send a list of outstanding items to PM's no later than 1 week before starting 2nd submission;Communicate effectively with Project Managers to keep them informed about shop drawing progress and outstanding items;Address any delays or bottlenecks proactively to maintain project times;Any other tasks assigned by the Director of Drafting & Technical Support.Requirements & QualificationsEducationBachelor's Degree or Diploma in Architectural Technology, Construction Project Management, or Civil EngineeringProject Management Professional Certification or equivalent work experience.Years of ExperienceMinimum 5+ years of drafting/breakdown supervisory experience.Manager LevelThis role is supportive, where the incumbent acts as a liaison between Drafters and PMs. assisting PMs in organizing and coordinating shop drawing aspects of a project from start up to close out;Detail oriented with the ability to read construction drawings (architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, and interior design);Possesses a solid understanding of drafting techniques and a familiarity with engineering terminology;Knowledgeable in the window industry and is familiar with curtain wall, window wall, railing and metal cladding products and systems;Strong computer skills and thoroughly familiar with Auto CAD and Revit software and other MS office based programs to provide support to the teamEncompasses leadership skillsAbility to train and coach draftersWork LocationOn-SiteOccasional site visits require wearing PPE and in certain other locations, may involve some exposure to hazards or physical risks that require knowledge of and adherence to basic safety procedures and precautions;Flexible working overtime as requiredWhy State?Comprehensive Benefits: Enjoy dental, medical and paramedical coverage, plus reimbursement for prescription eyewear and safety footwear every two years.Generous Time Off: Benefit from 2 weeks vacation, 6 personal days, and birthday offPerformance Evaluation: We prioritize ongoing feedback and development through structured bi-annual performance reviews and ongoing check ins with your direct supervisor/manager.Training: We provide custom onboarding training plans designed for each role to assist you with being set up for success.Have Fun and Learn: Join in on our fun staff social events and attend company wide townhalls that provide ongoing updates and enjoy our vibrant workplace culture.Insurance & Savings: Access discounted rates for group home and auto insurance and participate in our RRSP program.Wellness Focus: Stay active with a discounted corporate membership to Goodlife Fitness.
