Job Title: Project Governance Lead / PMO Lead (Contract 9 months) Location: Calgary, AlbertaDepartment: Project Management Office (PMO)Reports To: Manager - Project Controls & Governance Role Overview The Project Governance Lead (PMO Lead) will be responsible for establishing and overseeing governance frameworks, standards, and processes to ensure successful delivery of projects across the energy portfolio. This role provides strategic leadership, ensures compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements, and drives operational excellence in project execution. Key Responsibilities Governance & Oversight Define and implement project governance frameworks, standards, and best practices. Establish governance structures for project intake, prioritization, and lifecycle management. Monitor compliance with organizational policies, industry regulations, and energy sector standards. PMO Strategy & Leadership Develop and execute PMO strategy aligned with business priorities and sustainability goals. Lead and mentor a team of project managers and coordinators. Drive continuous improvement in project management methodologies, tools, and reporting. Project Lifecycle Management Review project lifecycles and deliverables to ensure timing, quality, and stakeholder expectations are met. Support risk management, issue resolution, and change control processes. Implement standardized templates, processes, and procedures across projects. Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate with internal stakeholders to review and validate management system resources. Provide transparent reporting to senior leadership on portfolio performance, risks, and opportunities. Act as a liaison between project teams, business units, and executive leadership. Support Functions Assist other business functions in developing documentation and governance processes where required. Ensure alignment of project outcomes with organizational sustainability and energy transition objectives. Qualifications & Skills Experience in industrial projects, either executing them as a Project Manager or in a PMO role. Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders. PMI designations (e.g., PMP) would be an asset but are not required. Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams. Familiarity with energy industry regulations, sustainability practices, and emerging technologies.
