Overview Home Trust Company (Subsidiary of Fairstone Bank) is hiring a Mortgage Officer in our Underwriting Classic - Montreal team. The Mortgage Officer is primarily responsible for managing the residential mortgage file from sign back of the commitment letter to funding, ensuring broker conditions are fulfilled and the file is completed in accordance with company policies and guidelines. This position aims to drive quality through accuracy and efficiency while ensuring required service levels are achieved. Responsibilities Review mortgage files and ensure client documentation, including income, job letter verification, bank statements, down payment and client interviews, meet all Company lending policies and guidelines and are accurate and complete. Own the approved file, analyze data, update internal records to match received documentation, and verify the file metrics remain within Company guidelines. Note discrepancies and provide approval credit rationale as required. Ensure all documents are signed back and received from mortgage brokers within established SLAs. Manage, compile, review and organize mortgage documentation within established SLAs in a high-volume, service-oriented environment. Collaborate with the Funding team to ensure timely closings. Serve as the main point of contact for Mortgage Brokers after the commitment letter has been signed back. Conduct daily follow-up with brokers to answer broker/client questions and ensure all required documentation has been submitted, reviewed and actioned accordingly. Collect and review documentation supplied by client and broker to ensure its authenticity and compliance with all aspects of Home Trust Company’s policies and guidelines per delegated authority matrices and applicable compliance obligations including Underwriting Policies and Lending Guidelines, Privacy, Anti-Money Laundering/Anti-Terrorist Financing, and internal Anti-Fraud Policy requirements. What we require Authorized to work in Canada Great communication skills Post-secondary degree or diploma, preferably in business management, finance, or related field (university an asset) 2 years in administrative environment preferable within mortgage industry an asset Prerequisite Maintain a positive supportive attitude, help to maintain an inclusive and supportive company culture.
