The project aims to create a functional, sustainable, and future-ready building that supports innovation, collaboration, and public benefit. We are seeking volunteer Architects, Architectural Technologists, and Building Designers to contribute their expertise during the early planning and design phases of this meaningful national initiative. This opportunity is ideal for licensed professionals, retired practitioners, emerging designers, and senior students who want to apply their skills to a high-impact project with lasting community and scientific value. Volunteer Role & Responsibilities (Tasks will be matched to your experience and availability) Contribute to conceptual and schematic design Assist with space planning for labs, offices, meeting rooms, and support areas Provide guidance on code compliance, accessibility, and building best practices Support sustainable and energy-efficient design approaches Prepare or review sketches, drawings, or basic renderings Participate in occasional design discussions or planning meetings (virtual or in-person) Desired Qualifications Background in architecture, building design, architectural technology, or related discipline Familiarity with institutional, healthcare, research, or commercial buildings (an asset) Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar design software (an asset) Knowledge of Alberta Building Code and accessibility standards (preferred but not required) Strong collaboration and communication skills Interest in medical, scientific, or community-based infrastructure What Volunteers Gain Opportunity to contribute to a national-level medical and scientific research facility Portfolio and project credit (where appropriate) Professional references and recognition Meaningful community impact in rural Alberta Flexible engagement respectful of your professional schedule How to Get Involved To express interest, please contact: cimsrvolunteerteam@rescueteam.com Skills Required Budgeting Business Modelling Contract Review Contract Writing Event Coordination Event Planning Fundraising Planning Project Management Secretary Supervising Sustainability Volunteer Engagement #J-18808-Ljbffr
