Vice President of Operations

Where: Currently located at 93 Woolwich St. W., Elora, ON N0B1S0; will move to Unit 4-111 Gregson Court, Fergus shortly

Job Overview:

At Shades 4 U Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Vice President of Operations to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of software development experience, a solid electronics foundation and a proven track record of managing complex projects, with 2 years of supervising experience. As a key member of our executive team, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our web applications along with heading the research and development team concentrating on our new series of Smart Devices while ensuring optimal performance, security, and user experience.

Job Responsibilities:

Design and Development:

• Oversee the research, development and production of a range of a new line of Smart Glass products, which will be manufactured in-house;
• Oversee day-to-day design and implementation of operations, including production, logistics, supply chain, and quality control, during the rollout of the new line of product;
• Lead and mentor junior developers, installers and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and QA engineers;
• Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables;
• Coordinate work and inspire cross-functional teams, including operations managers, supervisors, and staff;
• Develop and implement a robust operational strategy, aligned with organizational goals;
• Facilitate entry into the Smart Glass market for equipment and installation in Canada;
• Strengthens relationship with existing clients and particularly senior management in new regions and segments, using online web and social mediums;
• Build strategic relationships with other complementary engineering and manufacturing firms for sub-contracting and supply;
• Develops and expands the “shades 4 U Inc” brand in new markets within existing contact networks;
• Develop design capabilities with a focus on any Smart Glass software, designs and technology;
• Responsible for leading sales opportunities including costing, proposals, and client presentations;
• Develop and implement a robust operational strategy aligned with organizational goals;
• Fully understands and identifies opportunities to develop for Shades 4 U Inc. team capabilities to meet current and future project needs;
• Provides presentations to potential clients, and to clients regarding project status, next steps, and potential future projects;
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards;
• Allocate material, human and financial resources to implement company policies and programs;
• Establish financial and administrative controls; formulate and approve promotional campaigns; and approve overall personnel planning

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science or a related field;
• 5+ years of experience in software design and development;
• 2+ years of experience in management or supervision;
• 5+ years of technical knowledge in Electronics;
• Preferred experience in online marketing and web management;
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and leadership; and/or
• Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) principles.

Technology Expertise:

• Proficiency in C++, .NET Framework, and C for backend development;
• Experience working in embedded platforms to lead the Research and Development team;
• Experience with Whisper framework for voice identification;
• Familiarity with other web technologies such as PHP, React, AngularJS, JQuery; and/or
• Create and manage SQL-based databases for website functionality.
