Fortis Construction Group Inc. is a place that people love to come to work every day and are passionate about the work we do.The RoleFortis Construction Group Inc. is seeking a Job Cost Accountant to communicate with both estimating and project management teams to understand, summarize, project, and convey to the team project costing in comparison to estimate and profitability.Job Costing ResponsibilitiesWork with Project Managers to ensure that all costs are recorded monthly, and all projects are billed monthly, which includes preparing monthly AR invoices and backup as directed by Project ManagersMeet month-end and quarter-end deadlines and assist with reporting and analysis and estimates to completeAssist with reviewing quarterly project profit and loss statements, highlight any issues and understand the variances of project budget against actual costPrepare other statistical, financial, and accounting reports as neededAssist with other accounting and bookkeeping duties as requiredQualificationsPost secondary education in accounting, or a degree/diploma in a related field (Business, construction, bookkeeping)A minimum of 2+ plus years of relevant accounting experienceExperience in construction, contracting, or construction job costing considered an assetExperience using Jonas Premier Software considered an assetAdvanced skills in Microsoft excelProven track record of working with successful projectsWorks as a team player in a collaborative environmentThe ability to correctly identify financial situations and produce logical solutions to support a project teamDemonstrate strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills as well as a keen willingness to work independentlyDemonstrate high attention to detail and quality managementAre you ready to come#BUILDSTRONGwith team Fortis?
