OverviewAgricorp is looking for a Full-time Permanent Senior Test Analyst to join the Enabling Services team within the Information Technology division. The Senior Test Analyst will be responsible for end-to-end system testing of recurring Annual Business Cycle activities as well as testing new system enhancements to support Agricorp delivered programs. These systems include our in-house written Data Management System (.Net web application), Customer Document Management system (SharePoint) and Agricorp Customer Online Services (a .Net Web application) for digital services.Note: The following sections outline responsibilities, requirements, and related information for this role.ResponsibilitiesReview and understand, in detail, the system related expectations.Create detailed test plans using static analysis and testing of user requirements, user stories, system requirements definition, and functional or logical specifications to ensure the adherence of system functionality to expectations.Use prior knowledge and experience to consider the scope of testing through all phases of the project or initiative.Collaborate with team members to facilitate testing methodically and efficiently.Conduct end-to-end testing within and across integrated applications and technical platforms.Ensure appropriate test coverage to ensure quality.Improve test methods to help decrease manual effort and timelines.Recommend industry best practices, testing tools and technology to help improve existing processes and procedures.Use knowledge and experience to anticipate areas of risk in systems and prioritize testing to find important defects early.Conduct tests, evaluate actual results and raise variance reports as required.Assist test analysts in resolving problems and issues of moderate complexity.Provide senior technical assistance and support to test analysts.Coach and share knowledge with test analysts and other staff, both within the department and across the division.Job Status and CompensationJob Status: Full-time Permanent (posting for an existing vacancy)Salary band: $70,757 - $83,243Work Status: Full time in officeLocation: Guelph, OntarioQualificationsMinimum 3 years’ experience in system testing or quality assurance, including planning, writing and executing test plans and test cases3-5 years testing experience preferred within the following platforms: .Net web applications and SharePoint repository and librariesPost-secondary education in an information technology-related field or equivalent experienceStrong knowledge of testing methodologies and the software test life cycle, including estimation and defining tests, test planning, requirement analysis, test cases, defect management and test monitoringExperience compiling and analyzing data and creating reports and recommendations for managementExperience in estimating work effort, scheduling work and reporting progress on a regular basisExperience writing queries against Oracle databasesWorking or business knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) would be an assetTesting of web application for multiple device usages and AODA requirements would be an assetISTQB certification or equivalent testing certifications and Agile testing experience would be an assetKey CompetenciesClient focus – Provides service excellence to internal and external customersCommunication – Listens to others, communicates effectively, and fosters open communicationsAnalytical thinking – Interprets, links, and analyzes information and situations by breaking them down into component parts, and identifying patterns, connections, and underlying issuesCollaboration – A working practice whereby individuals work together to a common purpose to achieve business benefitCritical judgment, decision making, and problem solving – Uses critical judgment to make decisions and solve problems involving varied levels of complexity, ambiguity, and riskTesting – Knowledge and ability to perform testing of software and/or hardware using a systematic approachInitiative – Identifies and deals with situations and issues proactively and persistentlyAchieving quality results – Focuses efforts on managing one’s self to achieve high-quality results consistent with the organization’s standards and measures, while managing riskBackgroundAgricorp, an agency of the government of Ontario.
