Progesys is looking for a Electrical Project Engineer for a mining project.ResponsibilitiesPerform corrective and predictive maintenance on a 60 MW electrical system at a gold mine, including MV/LV field equipment and HV substation assetsEnsure the reliability and maintenance of Hitachi substations, including reactive power and voltage control systems (SVCs)Troubleshoot and maintain Schneider protection relays, switchgear, VFDs, and ABB ACS 1000/2000/6000 drivesExecute Management of Change processes, including project design reviews, documentation updates, and compliance verificationDiagnose and configure PLC logic, protection relay settings, and instrumentation/control devices (Endress & Hauser, level transmitters, plugged chute detectors)Demonstrate strong mining operations knowledge (brownfield experience) and familiarity with mine electrical and mechanical equipmentInterpret and update technical drawings and documentation such as SLDs, schematics, and general arrangementsSupport backup power systems, including Wajax diesel generators and black-start procedures, with potential interaction with IESO operationsCollaborate effectively with the Mill Electrical Maintenance Team, providing technical guidance while working under pressure and meeting tight deadlinesUse Microsoft SharePoint, Office, and Teams for reporting, documentation, and collaborationQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical EngineeringMinimum 10 years of experience in mining or heavy industrial projectsStrong knowledge of electrical codes and standardsExperience with power distribution, motor controls, and automation systemsExcellent communication skills for client-facing interactions and cross-functional collaborationStrong project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple MOC works concurrentlyKnowledge of risk assessment methodologies and safety regulations specific to electrical and instrumentation systemsAbility to work on-site in a 14/14 rotationOur BenefitsAn open and inclusive culture and work environmentCompetitive salaryHealth and dental benefits from day oneReferral bonusA company that encourages professional developmentInternational mobilityLarge-scale projectsThe opportunity to work closely with a team of curious and open-minded individualsOn-site gym (Laval office)Progesys is an equal opportunity employer and has an equal employment opportunity program for women, Indigenous peoples, visible minorities, ethnic minorities, and persons with disabilities.
