Investment Associate – BMO We are looking for a client‑focused Investment Associate who will manage and grow client relationships by providing professional investment desk advice and exceptional service. This role involves assessing clients’ investment needs, educating them on strategies and risks, and maintaining long‑term partnerships to deliver an outstanding client experience. Responsibilities Partner with lead advisor(s) to build and nurture relationships with COI’s and business partners, identifying opportunities for growth and delivering on client needs. Support client growth objectives through proactive sales, business development, and marketing activities such as telephone prospecting, community engagement, networking, seminars, and campaigns. Prepare and execute client portfolio reviews, including meeting prep, report generation, client communication, and investment research or proposal generation. Advise clients on investment concepts, wealth plans, and coordinate delivery of other wealth management offerings as directed by the lead advisor(s). Escalate complex or unresolved client situations and complaints. Deliver timely, accurate, and efficient service across all client interactions. Participate in annual business plan preparation and progress tracking aligned with growth objectives. Prepare financial plans for clients to meet common goals such as retirement. Provide advice on tax efficiency, legal implications, financial impact, and fees, engaging appropriate partners when necessary. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business objectives. Manage databases and support analysis, forecasting, and data visualization while adhering to data governance standards. Assist in creating new investment portfolios and recommend changes as needed. Assess fees, determine overall household fees, and coordinate with partners as applicable. Run the support office efficiently, train new team members, and support branch staff. Develop business with clients and prospects through proactive selling and marketing techniques. Explain and execute investment concepts, portfolio construction, and other wealth management strategies. Support branch or team objectives by identifying profit optimization opportunities, increasing share of wallet, and enhancing client loyalty. Identify gaps and best practices by monitoring sales and service performance against plans. Support the execution of business strategy and planning activities. Fulfill client sales and service activities in compliance with regulatory requirements. Maintain confidentiality of client and bank information. Adhere to internal risk mitigation policies and industry rules/regulations. Work independently while contributing to broader responsibilities as needed. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of relevant experience and/or certification in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of the Canadian Securities Course and Conduct and Practices Handbook. Registration as a Registered Representative (RR). Compliance with mandatory IIROC Continuing Education Program requirements. WME completed within 30 months of RR license. Specialized knowledge from education and/or business experience. Advanced verbal and written communication skills. Advanced collaboration and teamwork skills. Advanced analytical and problem‑solving skills. Advanced influence skills. Salary & Compensation $42,500.00 – $78,900.00, Salaried & Commission. The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type. Salaries vary by location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications and may include a commission structure. For commission roles, the salary listed above is the expected target for the first year in this position. Compensation may include performance‑based incentives, discretionary bonuses, and additional perks and rewards.
