Chief Financial Officer

Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Tourism Sun Peaks is seeking a strategic, results‑oriented CFO to oversee the financial health, planning, and operations of Sun Peaks Resort LLP and its affiliates. This role demands strong financial acumen, strategic thinking, and the ability to coach and lead teams in a complex resort environment with a shared‑services model. Primary Responsibilities Financial Strategy & Leadership Develop and execute financial strategies to support Sun Peaks’ long‑term growth and investment plans. Provide financial leadership to senior executives and shared‑services teams, aligning financial goals with company strategy. Lead financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting for the May‑to‑April annual cycle. Strategic oversight of payroll and benefits, including labor reporting, workforce forecasts, and compensation. Financial Operations & Reporting Oversee accurate, compliant financial reporting and timely delivery of statements. Manage and optimize financial systems, accounting processes, and internal controls. Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, tax requirements, and reporting standards. Technology & Digital Strategy Leadership Provide strategic oversight of the IT department, aligning business and financial objectives. Manage IT budgeting and optimize costs while maintaining security and efficiency. Ensure implementation of financial systems, enterprise software, and data management solutions. Support cybersecurity and risk management initiatives, ensuring data integrity. Collaborate on digital transformation, automation, reporting tools, and business intelligence. Investment & Growth Planning Support capital investment decisions through financial analysis and risk assessment. Evaluate funding and financing options for infrastructure and sustainability initiatives. Monitor financial performance metrics and recommend actions to enhance revenue and cost management. Risk Management & Compliance Implement and oversee risk management strategies across financial, operational, and regulatory domains. Ensure adherence to ISO 14001 and other relevant certifications. Work with external auditors, institutions, and regulators to maintain compliance and transparency. Team Leadership & Development Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team for high performance. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive operational efficiency and business performance. Skills You Bring With You CPA designation required. MBA is an asset. Minimum of 10 years progressive financial leadership experience. Strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, accounting principles, and risk management. Experience in capital investment planning and financing structures. Proven ability to analyze financial data and provide strategic insights. Excellent communication skills and stakeholder relationship building. Demonstrated cross‑functional collaboration. Champion for safety and guest experience. Sensitivity to resort‑environment realities with a community culture mindset. Strong results orientation while respecting integrity, teamwork, and balance.
