Team Lead - Site Investigation and Remediation Apply for the Team Lead - Site Investigation and Remediation position at Stantec. About This Opportunity This role is located in either our Saskatchewan or Manitoba offices and requires a dedicated, organized leader who can drive technical excellence and support team growth. Your Key Responsibilities Technical Work Maintain an active role on existing project work (project management, coordination, and/or technical role), achieving a 65% utilization target. Develop proposals and submissions to support Site Investigation and Remediation (SIR) work and other multi‑disciplinary projects. Adhere to client and project deadlines by completing work in a timely manner. Review and understand Stantec technical standard operating procedures for SIR work. Collaborate with other SIR Team Leads to drive new initiatives focused on improving SIR team efficiencies. Work with Technical Discipline Leads and Technical Area Leads to identify and manage SIR areas of technical improvement. Ensure team members receive technical training on SIR related tasks and track their training. Leadership Provide guidance and leadership to up to 10 SIR team members. Actively participate and lead SIR team lead meetings. Liaise with other Team Leads and project managers to resource your team with existing project work. Communicate with sector leads, sector representatives, and project managers to resource upcoming proposals. Monitor and optimize team member utilization rates based on capacity, skills, schedule, and career goals. Provide team members with ongoing performance evaluation and targeted constructive feedback. Work with the Senior Team Lead to establish SIR team goals that align with the Business Centre’s yearly strategic objectives and communicate the goals to your team. Assist team members in developing ongoing career goals and achievement plans. Complete year‑end performance reviews and new‑year goal‑setting meetings with team members. Recommend team members’ career level progression and billing rate changes. Participate in the recruitment and hiring process for new staff and transfers. Ensure onboarding activities for new staff are planned and tracked. Champion a Safety‑First team environment focused on leading indicator measures and prompt documentation and tracking of near misses, incidents, etc. Collaborate with safety personnel and leadership to support mandatory training requirements of team members. Lead and act as a champion for recognition and rewards programs. Your Capabilities and Credentials Desire and ability to lead a diverse group in a fast‑paced dynamic work environment. Dynamic leader with the ability to work collaboratively and motivate people toward a shared vision. Creative, solutions‑focused thinker with strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills. Active and empathetic listener, experienced in navigating difficult personal and professional conversations aimed at a positive and productive outcome. Committed and supportive delegator who is highly organized, able to multi‑task and prioritize. Confident and collaborative decision maker. Open and honest communicator with proven ability to provide positive and constructive feedback to staff. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree from a recognized post‑secondary institution in Environmental Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Sciences, or a relevant technologist certificate program. Minimum 5 Years of relevant environmental experience.
