Captain- 500T Master Domestic

The OpportunityCaptain of the passenger transfers vessel. Main duties related to the safe transfer of personnel, and emergency response as required. Ensure the safety of life, the vessel, and the prevention of marine pollution while working within the established health and safety guidelines, policies, and procedures of the Company.The CompanyBridgemans Services Group LP (BSG) provides flexible, full-service vessels for industrial workforce accommodation, logistics, and ferry service at any location throughout the world. BSG customizes services to the exact needs and locations of clients, ensuring that solutions meet precise specifications, including logistics, crew transfers, housekeeping, catering, and the fulfillment of all HSE requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:Ensure the vessel is operated in a safe manner in accordance with all Transport Canada and CSA regulations and requirements.Ensure the vessel is operated with a focus on efficiency, minimizing fuel and supplies waste during operations.Ensure compliance with local project rules as issued by the client; Operate the vessel in full compliance with regulatory, seafaring standard operating procedures and policies.Ensure that the vessel has the required inventory of fuel and ship spares.Complete pre-departure checks and inspections at regular intervals.Provide daily reports for each vessel on fuel, labour, and other requirements as per policy and client billing, including damage and incident reporting.Complete all handover logs, documents, reports, and action requests and ensure vessel handover is completed with the incoming captain and crew at the end of the shift.Oversee and assist with day-to-day general maintenance.Ensure the safety, health, and welfare of all crew and passengers on board.Ensure crew levels are sufficient for successful operations pursuant to Safe Manning for the vessel.Provide verbal and written performance reviews of all crew to the supervisor in support of the performance management of the crew.Support the skills development of the crew, ensuring adequate support, training, and development of additional competencies by acting as a mentor for the crew.Maintain a positive tone within the team and work cooperatively through personal behavior, work contribution, and the sharing of expertise and knowledge.Act as an ambassador for Bridgemans in all dealings with the public, management, and team members.QualificationsThree (3) years of relevant experience preferred.Valid Transport Canada - 500T Certificate of Competency/ Master 500 Gross Tonnage DomesticPrior Experience on the Tug Boat will be preferred.Valid Seafarers Medical certificateValid MED/STCW certificatesROC-MCAdvanced firefightingMarine Advanced First AidBridge watch rating, SVMO, and Simulated electronic navigation Limited are all considered an asset.Ability to clear a drug and alcohol test prior to hiring and potential random tests throughout employment with prior notice.Excellent comprehension and command of the English language; (written & verbal)Working ConditionsRepetitive, physical activity involved (walking, kneeling, reaching, lifting)Lifting light to medium weight (up to 20 to 50lbs)Exposure to environmental elements including extreme weather conditions.At Bridgemans Services Group we believe that each employee contributes directly to our growth and success.
