Reporting to the Director of Operational Excellence and as a member of the Process Safety team, you will be accountable for leading various process safety tasks and supporting the sustainment and continuous improvement of key processes in the Operational Excellence Management System (OEMS). Salary Range: $120,000 - $139,000 CAD. Minimum Requirements Ten years of relevant experience, preferably in the refining or petrochemical industries. Professional Engineer in Ontario or eligibility to apply with PEO. Extensive knowledge of Process Safety Principles. Experience facilitating PHAs (e.g., HAZOPs, What‑ifs). Experience with consequence analysis and facility siting assessments. Strong interpersonal skills: team player and effective communication with personnel at all levels. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills. Ability to coach and mentor. Responsibilities Lead and oversee process hazard analysis (PHA), risk management, investigations, MOC reviews, consequence analysis and facility siting. Participate in various Process Safety Networks. Support the OEMS, including implementing improvements, stewarding KPIs, and analyzing critical control analysis data. Work closely with all areas of the refinery, including Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and EH&S. Location and Other Key Details Work out of our Sarnia refinery in Ontario at 1900 St. Clair Parkway. Hours: regular 40‑hour work week, Monday to Friday, with potential for extended hours based on business needs. Compensation follows internal guidelines and is based on years of experience and scope of work.
