Reporting to the Controller, you'll play a key role in leading core accounting functions and supporting strategic financial initiatives. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, are deadline-driven, and enjoy problem-solving in a collaborative team setting.Annual Salary Range: $75,000-$100,000What you're great atMaintaining high attention to detail while meeting tight deadlines.Communicating financial information clearly both written and verbal.Working independently and collaborating across departments.Demonstrating integrity and discretion with sensitive information.Managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.Solving problems creatively and analytically.Upholding Westbow's core values in all aspects of your work.What you'll be doingManage day-to-day accounting functions, including AP, AR, journal entries, and reconciliations.Oversee and support full-cycle accounting, including month-end and year-end close.Prepare and analyze financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow).Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards (ASPE & IFRS).Prepare and file GST/PST returns.Support the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.Develop and implement accounting policies, controls, and procedure.Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making.Mentor junior accounting staff and provide technical guidance.Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.Support process improvement initiatives within the finance department.Mentor and train junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed.Research and apply accounting standards to resolve technical issues.Maintain high-quality documentation and ensure compliance with internal controls.What we're looking for2+ years experience in an accounting role.Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in accounting.CPA designation or actively working toward designated is considered an asset.Strong knowledge of accounting principles and advanced understanding of GAAP.Advanced understanding of Canadian GST/PST regulations.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.Ability to stay current with accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practices.Detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organized, with a commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement.What you can expect from usMedical and Dental benefits packageRRSP Matching programInvestment opportunities with Westbow CapitalNew home discountsEmployee discount at Wodr Thermal SpaProfessional development opportunitiesSupportive team and leadership staffCasual and energetic work environmentFlexible work schedulesFun and inclusive company eventsVolunteer opportunities with Westbow Gives BackAt Westbow our vision is to create a world where every person has the skills and opportunities to reach their greatest potential.
