Responsibilities;

  • Work closely with the qualified Electricians to learn and apply knowledge and skills
  • Troubleshoot and isolate faults in electrical systems and remove and replace faulty parts
  • Carry out all predicative and preventative maintenance tasks ensuring that all electrical equipment and circuits adhere to health and safety regulations
  • Read and interpret various technical and electrical drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to plan wiring layout
  • Work closely with other departments, assessing and repairing problems as they occur
  • Install, replace and repair lighting fixtures and electrical control and distribution equipment such as switches, relays and circuit breaker panels
  • Pull wire through conduits, holes in the walls and floor and install brackets and hangers to support electrical equipment
  • Adhere to and promote health and safety procedures at all times
  • Able to help with other repairs as necessary
  • Source and order parts and deal with wholesalers
  • Attend applicable college courses in line with Ministry of Training Apprenticeship Certification
Experience and qualifications:
  • Ideally you will already be working towards completion of electrical apprenticeship
  •  Knowledge and interest in electrical systems and motors with a background in technical/mechanical skills
  • Logical approach with good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate with other employees
  • Concern for overall safety
