Sr Project Controls Specialist (Quantity Surveyor) This role involves independent application of Planning and Progress Measurement procedures, Quantity surveying, Cost Control, best practices, and analysis on large EPC projects, with experience in Risk and Change management processes. Base pay range $115,471.00/yr - $134,000.00/yr Additional compensation types Annual Bonus and Sign-on bonus Key Tasks and Responsibilities Apply sound knowledge of Project Controls principles. Estimate quantity as per Approved for Construction drawings based on actual onsite changes. Coordinate with site construction team and Engineering department to finalize and certify actual physical work done at site to facilitate subcontractor payments. Review scope of work, project preamble, drawings, and specifications. Ensure quantity take‑offs are done per company standards and project requirements; schedule scope in the system for monitoring. Monitor field design changes per site conditions, site TQ’s, and process subcontractor work payments. Track material receipt and usage at site to support weekly progress. Evaluate site instructions with planned cost against original approved scope; finalize with cost and submit for approval. Assess change work orders and variations (subcontractor and client) in line with the contract. Monitor payment flow to subcontractors against budget quantities and actual progress. Evaluate progress measurement from Subcontractor QS and generate reports for the company’s main system. Monitor projects regarding budgeted cost, demand forecasts, and time overruns to ensure timely execution. Analyze feasibility reports to identify bottlenecks and ensure timely completion. Conduct joint surveys with parties to verify work and progress measurement alignment. Rate analysis, certification, and approvals for payments. Prepare deviation and variation statements for final contractor payments. Implement periodic reviews and recommend process improvements for business effectiveness. Assess change work orders and variations (duplicate item omitted). Maintain depth of knowledge in advanced construction work package principles and management. Engage in the Risk management process. Prepare monthly reports and support overall project status reports following the reporting calendar. Analyze and provide additional insight or correlations within data sets. Prepare cost forecast and cost analysis for each project discipline based on actual data and trends. Balance project controls systems (Cost/Schedule/Progress) from original estimate to project completion. Support Project Risk management and change management processes. Participate in closeout report data collection. Perform any other related duties as required. Essential Qualifications and Education Advanced Technical Education (B.S./M.Sc. or equivalent) or relevant site experience. 6–10 years of relevant experience. 5+ years within EPC or Construction industry. Commitment to a safe working environment. Proficient in MS Office. Autonomous yet collaborative to ensure project goals. Critical thinking, problem‑solving, and strong attention to detail. High coordination skills to gather data from various stakeholders; effective prioritization and deadline management. Demonstrated ability to work with a multifunctional team.
