The Auto Body Technician is responsible for taking a damaged vehicle and repairing or restoring it to its original structural integrity, function, and appearance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and capable of multitasking to accommodate shifting priorities.Primary Objectives of the Auto Body (Collision Repair) Technician:Review damage reports and repair estimates, plan the necessary workThoroughly examine collision damage, including exterior body parts, power accessories, and warning lightsPerform structural and complete body repairs: Repair and replace front-end components, body parts, doors, frame, and underbody componentsStraighten bent frames using specialized equipment, hammer out dents and defectsWeld on vehicles using MIG welders and spot weldersDisassemble damaged vehicle areas to identify hidden damages early in the repair processFile, grind, and sand repaired surfacesMask and tape surfaces in preparation for painting, apply primers, and repaintFill holes, dents, and seams using soldering equipment or plastic fillersRestore vehicles to factory/OEM specificationsInspect and test drive repaired vehicles for proper handlingRead and understand repair estimates and proceduresWork with various metals, plastics, glass, electrical, and mechanical partsUse frame and measuring equipment, disassemble and reassemble vehiclesPerform other duties as assignedAuto Body Repair and refinishing experience - 3+ years requiredAuto Body Collision and Damage Repairer (310B) Red Seal License (preferred) or in a registered apprenticeship programCertifications such as I-Car and OEM are favorableExperience with welding, lifting, and working with various toolsValid driver's license requiredOwn tools and safety footwear requiredUp-to-date compliance training (AODA, WHMIS, etc.) and knowledge of information security (PIPEDA)3 to 5 years of working knowledge of Mitchell / AudatexWhat we offer:Bonus and other supplemental payHealth, dental, and vision benefitsPaid time offDisclaimer: This job description may not include all duties and responsibilities and may evolve as CSN continues to grow.CSN is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
