Role Overview As a Fraud Tech Lead you will provide technical leadership across Vancity’s Information Technology Services team, driving the design, integration, and optimization of fraud detection tools across digital banking, payments, onboarding, and member‑facing systems. This full‑time, permanent role is based at our Vancouver head office, with a hybrid arrangement and occasional on‑site requirements. Key Responsibilities Own the ITS fraud prevention technology roadmap focused on digital channels and payments fraud Lead evaluation and adoption of fraud tools such as Actimize, Feedzai, SAS, FICO, or equivalents Ensure fraud prevention is embedded into ITS architecture and platform standards Oversee design, integration, and optimization of fraud tools within Vancity’s stack including Salesforce, MuleSoft, Intellect, and digital banking platforms Deliver solutions that address account takeover, transaction monitoring, identity verification, and payments fraud scenarios Lead cross‑functional ITS teams to deliver fraud‑related initiatives on time and within scope Ensure APIs, data pipelines, and monitoring frameworks support real‑time fraud detection Build dashboards and monitoring solutions leveraging Splunk, Datadog, Dynatrace, or equivalent APM/logging tools Partner with analytics teams to enable anomaly detection and machine learning capabilities Align ITS monitoring with SOC operations for faster fraud incident detection and response Mentor ITS developers, analysts, and architects on fraud tool usage and integration best practices Collaborate with Security, Risk, and Compliance to keep solutions member‑first and regulatory‑compliant Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field Minimum 7 years in software engineering, solution architecture, or technical leadership Proven leadership of cross‑functional technical teams Hands‑on experience with fraud detection tools (Actimize, Feedzai, SAS, FICO, or equivalents) Experience in fraud prevention for digital banking channels and payments systems (e.g., wires, e‑transfers, card payments) Familiarity with tech stack such as MuleSoft, APIs, Intellect, Salesforce Monitoring & Observability: Splunk, Datadog, Dynatrace Data programming: SQL and Python Real‑time streaming: Kafka or RabbitMQ Strong grasp of security design patterns, API authentication, and data governance Experience delivering enterprise‑scale IT solutions that include tool integration and adoption Knowledge of Canadian banking regulations, AML/KYC standards, and payment networks Exposure to machine learning or AI for fraud prevention Experience working in regulated, high‑security IT environments What You’ll Earn Salary range: $91,000 to $136,400 per annum. The base pay may vary based on qualifications and experience. You may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to eligibility requirements.
