To meet our growth challenges, WSP’s Canadian team is currently seeking a Senior Transmission Line Project Engineer to join our Power Delivery team, located in any of our Ontario or Quebec offices. We offer attractive pay, flexible work options, a great corporate culture, comprehensive and employee-focused benefits including virtual healthcare and a wellness platform as well as great savings programs, and a clear vision for the future. #WeAreWSP #ERIcareersWSP #ERIcarrièresWSP What you can expect to do hereLead technical aspects of transmission line design projects (34.5kV–500kV), including new lines, relocations, rebuilds, upgrades, structure replacements, and fiber optic additionsPrepare and review design deliverables, such as plan and profile drawings, material selection, and construction specificationsConduct quality reviews of internal and subcontractor deliverablesManage and prioritize multiple projects within budget and time constraintsEvaluate technical options, criteria, and routes for design meritApply knowledge of construction standards for high voltage line workCoordinate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure client satisfactionAct as Technical Project Management Lead and maintain strong client relationshipsManage project reporting, invoicing, accounts receivable, and unbilled workDevelop and monitor scope, schedules, and budgets against plan and contractsEnsure adherence to budget, schedule, and quality requirementsServe as primary liaison between client and project team; understand client interestsProactively identify challenges and implement solutions for project successProvide leadership and mentoring to the project teamTravel to client offices, field sites, or vendor facilities as requiredSupport business development activities and participate in proposal preparation What you’ll bring to WSPCivil (BSCE), Mechanical (BSME), or Electrical (BSEE) degree, from an accredited universityAt least ten (10) years experience in transmission design – design of overhead High Voltage and Extra High Voltage transmission lines including route selection, line and structure spotting, structure design and analysis, and development of construction bid packagesProficiency with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS-LiteExperience in a Project Engineering or Project Management capacity working with multidisciplinary teams on complex projectsProfessional Engineering license (P.Eng.) requiredExperience with AutoCAD/Microstation, MFAD, and Microsoft Project is strongly preferredKnowledge of transmission line routing, field program planning, project management, EPC projects, and line constructionDistribution/underbuild design experience is a plusManagerial and leadership skills About UsWSP is one of the world\'s leading professional services firms.
