OverviewSoftware Developer in Test (SDET – multiple opportunities) at Best Buy Canada. We are growing our SDET community and are seeking intermediate and senior level SDETs for full-time permanent roles. You will collaborate with an agile team to advocate for the integrity of QA processes for all major deployments. We practice a remote-first working model with in-person collaboration at our head office in Vancouver, BC.Apply now and grow your career with our technology team as an intermediate or senior Software Developer in Test (SDET).What You’ll DoBuild and implement scalable automated quality assurance best practices.Test planning, documentation, and execution of functional and regression automated tests written in Java and/or Groovy.Participate in grooming/sprint planning sessions and work with product and development teams to define priorities, providing feedback on accuracy and testability.Set up, maintain, and execute test automation frameworks on multiple systems.Collaborate with deployment teams to resolve issues and contribute to product design.Research test tools, methodologies, and trends to upgrade existing practices and processes.Develop the automated test strategy and product test plan with project teams and stakeholders.Log bugs in JIRA with clear steps and details to aid issue reproduction.Maintain automated test plans and update test scenarios and test cases based on requirements for system integration, functional, regression and performance testing.What We’re Looking ForIntermediate SDET – SDET II2-5 years of experience with Python.2-5 years of experience in test automation using PyTest, Selenium, Playwright, or RestAssured.Experience building or contributing to test automation frameworks (preferably in Python, Java, or JavaScript).Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).Experience validating ETL pipelines, data transformations, and reporting layers.Familiarity with tools like Apache Airflow, Spark, Hive, SQL, Allure and Great Expectations.Senior SDET – SDET III5+ years of experience with Python.3+ years of expertise in test automation using PyTest, Selenium, Playwright, or RestAssured.At least 2+ years of leading projects or initiatives within an agile environment.Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline design and implementation.Proven ability to develop test automation frameworks, preferably using Python, Java, or JavaScript.Direct experience in validating ETL pipelines, data transformations, and reporting layers.Knowledge and experience with tools like Apache Airflow, Spark, Hive, SQL, Allure and Great Expectations.Why You’ll Love It HereRemote-first work environment.Employee discounts on tech.Flexible health benefits and wellness program.Development opportunities to build new and transferable skills.About Best BuyAs Canada’s destination for the coolest tech, Best Buy offers a great work environment with a culture of inclusivity and belonging.
